To see the beauty of everyday life is to learn to live slowly, to listen to the murmur of the present. -
Danielle Ferguson is a passionate, self-taught artist who, since childhood, has been driven by a sense of wonder about everyday life. She paints as one suspends time, to capture the simple beauty of a ray of light, an ordinary gesture or a silent atmosphere. Her intimate, delicate paintings explore suspended moments. She invites us all to slow down, to observe, and to rediscover the poetry hidden in the simplest gestures.
Working mainly in oils, Danielle Ferguson composes her works from real or imagined scenes, carefully observed or staged in her studio. She uses a deliberately restricted palette, enabling her to create subtle harmonies and play with light. Influenced by the Impressionists and contemporary artists such as Sarah Sedwick and Julian Merrow-Smith, she transforms every moment into visual theater. Her approach celebrates the beauty of the mundane, and seeks to remind us that emotion can be born from the ordinary.
