I like to create characters that seem truly happy to move on the surface of the work.

Con un padre músico de cabaret, Nicole creció en un ambiente artístico. La música estuvo presente desde muy pequeña. De pequeña, se dedicaba a todo tipo de actividades creativas (pintar, dibujar, coser, hacer collares de cuentas...), todo ello al ritmo febril de la música Jazz. Este primer contacto con el arte influyó en su forma de entender la vida cotidiana. Sin saberlo, Nicole se encaminaba hacia un destino artístico, pero la elección de sus estudios la alejó de su propósito inicial. Tras cursar un máster en Economía en la Universidad de Montpellier, trabajó en diversos campos (gestora, facilitadora de formación, asistente médica). En 2000, sucumbiendo a la llamada de su pasión, empezó a formarse en la Escuela de Arte de Perpiñán. Cinco años más tarde, se convierte en artista a tiempo completo y participa en varias exposiciones regionales. En 2012, creó un estudio en Collioure.

Nicole likes to vary her materials (acrylic, charcoal, pastel, ink, gold leaf, natural pigment, copper...) and backgrounds (canvas, kraft paper...). She prefers acrylics for their freedom and ink for its elusive rendering. The artist knows that each technique has its own language. The same subject (landscape, portrait) may reflect different feelings depending on the method of execution. With its surprises and unexpected happenings, life inspires her with all its instability. Her art is constantly changing. Ideas and projects jostle in her head, creating new inspirations. Here, a disguised tribute to Picasso (Spanish painter, twentieth century), there a pianist in full creation or a brass band rehearsing in unison. Around an idea, a poem by Verlaine inspires the title of a painting.
