Philippe Roussel | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

At the age of 20, Philippe Roussel moved away from purely figurative art and opted for acrylic, applied with a palette knife, moving towards painting he describes as ""semi-abstract, "" a style that is more personal and more intuitive. The artist, greatly influenced by the Masters of cubism such as Picasso with his Indian ink works, as well as Tapiés, and tells his story through symbols. Thus, writing began to figure in his works, alongside landscapes, everyday objects, animals, elements of nature, encounters and historical accounts.
