Art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world, and letting ourselves be a conduit for passing energy.

Mauro De Giorgi is an Italian artist. He has always been passionate about art, poetry and music and has taken part in countless projects over the years be it painting, live performance or digital art. The sociology and communication graduate spent years working at ad agencies before opening his own and working with several major brands. He continued exploring art and design on the side then moved to London in 2010 and displayed his work in several European galleries. He was actually selected to take part in the 2015 Venice Biennale. One of his pieces was published in the Benetton collection book Preastigium. He left London for Tokyo in 2017 where he explored Japanese art and aesthetics. Mauro took part in several art exhibitions and events in France, Italy, United States, Australia, England and Asia.

The Italian artist learnt the traditional Japanese techniques of sumi-e and shodo during his time in the country. It was love at first sight for the painter and he went onto work with the master of ink painting, Shukou Tsuchiya. Mauro de Giorgi's ink paintings blend Western style with Japanese delicacy. The artist applies traditional Japanese techniques to imagery and the subconscious and strives for balance and purity using a minimalist and creative style. The artist's signature sumi-e technique involves depicting subjects in one stroke of black ink and stands out for its minimalist painting.
