Dupetitpré Roselyne

  • France
  • Painter
My artworks lead us into something deep between underwater depth and celestial poetry.
Roselyne Dupetitpré initially experimented with figurative art. However, in 2011, she became captivated by abstraction and more precisely by the Lyrical abstract art tradition and took lessons with local artists. Since then, it became an essential part of her life, just like a vital breath, a necessary meditation. Guided by silence and solitude, her artwork is all about us, about life. The vital breath flowing from the brush, in the sometimes explosive meeting of opposites : light and darkness, transparency and opacity, roughness and smoothness, trace and evanescence. It is a constant quest for light : dark spaces of cosmos, poetry, nature, dreams. Above all, the essence of her work is freedom
She paints with acrylic , a medium she loves to apply with fluid and vigorous strokes. She has developed an intimate relationship with material : craks, impastos and casts structure her composition and her limited chromatic range offers many lighting effects. She is deeply inspired by the work of Chinese artists Zao Wou-ki and Chu The-Chun. The breath of their lyrical abstract art has opened an emotional window for her creativity. She also takes inspiration from other artists such as Fabienne Verdier, Pierre Soulages, Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell and many others.
