A drawing is simply a line that takes a walk. (Paul Klee)\n
Claire GODET is an architect, artist and unique designer who trained in Applied Arts at Ensaama - Olivier de Serres. The art lover has a special place in her heart for architecture and is fascinated by art's role in a space, a fascination that fuelled her first pieces. Claire explores notions of depth perception with different layers and media. During her course she presented her first maze piece in 2003. Exhibitions in Paris and Bordeaux came next.
Claire GODET is inspired by everyday items and other artists to create her so-called labyrinthine pieces. She draws a single constant line to create shapes and characters freehand. Her winding and random line runs from A to B or forms a circle without ever overlapping. The result is that you can clearly see the subject or shape from a distance but, up close, the audience can see the complexity and painstaking detail of the design. The artist wants everyone to have their own take on a piece but she has chosen this winding non-stop line to depict life and all its twists and turns.\n
