"The best way to achieve the impossible is to believe it's possible."
María Duro was born in 1985 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since 2018, she has lived and worked in France, first in Paris and since 2022 in Bordeaux.
She initially turned to fashion design. After graduating from the University of Buenos Aires in 2010, she then worked for six years as a creative stylist.
Winning the Fondation Louis Vuitton's MyFLV photography competition in 2019 reinforced her desire to approach aesthetics not from the angle of fashion, but from that of art, photography and painting.

Winning the Fondation Louis Vuitton's MyFLV photography competition in 2019 reinforced her desire to approach aesthetics not from the angle of fashion, but from that of art, photography and painting.
As an independent artist, Maria has been developing her photographic production for several years and, more recently, working as a painter.
Her acrylic paintings are strongly influenced by color. The confinement she experienced in Paris, combined with the gray skies, led her to rediscover in her work the warm, lively atmosphere of her native Argentina. The themes she uses in her painting involve the abstraction of organic and vegetal forms, a kind of motif.
In 2022, she began experimenting with the collage technique, combining photography with painting. Models are "repositioned" in contexts deliberately detached from the one in which they were originally photographed, creating a kind of strangeness in the image.
