This unique and original contemporary artwork "The Scarf" was created by contemporary artist Corinne Malfreyt.
"For Corinne Malfreyt inspired by the choreography of Pina BAUSCH "The Rite of Spring" of Igor STRAVINSKY, the space between the bodies is still dance. She installs on her canvases an architecture of rhythms and chromatic nuances, a declination of gray sometimes punctuated by red resonances where the impetus of the dancers seeks and finds its place. Correspondence of the bottom and the forms, to return the felt emotion, the coloured matter, in the suggested limits of the drawing, dances, palpitates and vibrates in harmonic cadences, in fragile balances, the moment of the composition. The artist sticks sand on the canvas. Then she colors it with acrylic. She then places her composition in pastel and paints with knives and oil paint. The whole gives a result all in matter: the grain of the sand, the matt of the acrylic paint, the gloss of the oil paint.

Everything in Corinne Malfreyt-Gatel's practice is a story of energy and symbiosis. Her oil painting is composed of and marries the elements in a continually circular movement of the material, symbolic for the artist of time and the life cycle. The series of paintings "Le Sacre après Pina", a homage to dance and the famous German choreographer Pina Bausch, evokes the eternal return of things, disappearance to rebirth, completion to beginning again, through the movement of bodies. Fascinated by the theatrical and performing nature of artistic creation, Corinne Malfreyt-Gatel produces alongside her pictorial production, public acts, poem readings to music or "live" paintings, precious moments during which the notion of exchange, emotions lived together and shared crystallise.
