The American artist is not to be introduced anymore. When we talk about Andy Warhol and pop art, we obviously associate Andy Warhol with Marilyn. But it is not Andy Warhol who invented the artistic movement of pop art, a silk-screen printing technique, created in the 1950s in England and called English pop art. Nevertheless, he was the instigator of American pop art. At the time, he was a famous advertising designer, but he had a crush on this kind of art. Andy Warhol's pop art is not limited to portraits of Marilyn Monroe. In the early 1960s, his first paintings depicted cans of "Campbell's" soup, a brand for which he had created advertising posters, before turning to pop art, hence the representation of consumer products in his art. Indeed, the consumer society is a privileged theme in his works.

Among the celebrities represented by Andy Warhol, apart from Marylin Monroe, we can mention Che Guevara, Mao Zedong, Marlon Brando, Mick Jagger, and even Mickey Mouse! There are so many of them that we couldn't mention them all. Let's also mention his friendship with Jean-Michel Basquiat. The friendship of the two avant-garde stars marked the 1980s and inspired the creation of many paintings signed by the duo. Considered today as underground legends, the two men and their relationship have never ceased to fascinate aesthetes.
