Klein Bruno

To paint is to enter the canvas with strength and desire. Everything is extinguished around the artist. Only his hand, his soul and the support remain in communion.
For many years Bruno paints in his spare time. He worked in a press department as a photographic journalist. This job allowed him to travel widely and to impregnate his memory with a ‘significant gallery’ of images: suffering, loneliness, confusion, rebellion, meetings of politicians, artists, NGO staff ... He saw and heard everything that surrounded him. He began painting in 1995. Gradually, through hard work, his path was forged and his artistic style appeared. 2009 was a turning point in his career: Bruno left his job to devote himself entirely to his passion. Important encounters marked his career: Henry Gault (painter) taught him the discipline of drawing and Miro Sego (Master of Fine Arts in Belgrade) taught him Impressionism and his strokes. At the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, Elisabeth Frering (painter) introduced him to the free expression of form and colour.
All of these lessons gave rise to a pictorial tendency, bordering on abstract and figurative: a modern impressionism. Bruno paints directly on the canvas without preliminary drawing or any photographs or other media. Memory, imagination and the soul are the engines of his creativity. This way of working imbues his paintings with authenticity sensitivity and strength. Men, nature, sky and water, everything is a source of fascination. The coasts of France, Balkan conflicts and African men are all elements that provide their colour and daily life to be transposed on canvas. Bruno paints for pleasure and to convey to the viewer the joy experienced in art.
