I take a contemporary look at scenes from everyday life
Born in 1983 in Nancy, his attraction for painting developed during his childhood. In 1999, he joined the school of visual communication and design St-Joseph de Bressuire. In 2002, he pursued a four-year apprenticeship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bordeaux and completed his artistic training at the Pivaut School of Applied Art, Comics and Illustration in Nantes in 2008.
Settled since 2018 in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the artist is inspired by the beauty of simple everyday things and people in general, his work is inspired by what he observes or an emotion he wants to share.
The scenes of everyday life are the object of my artistic research, which takes the form of a figurative painting whose recurring object is the portrait. I take a direct and unpretentious look at what surrounds me, which gives my painting an almost photographic effect, without however tipping over into a form of mimicry.
My working medium is essentially acrylic on canvas. My approach consists in circumscribing in the delimited space of the canvas scenes of the contemporary life which, by a pictorial translation, concretize a form of invitation to the contemplation. The translation of the direct image of reality into painting is a sublimation, a proposal: that of looking with a new eye at what is around us and that we forget to consider, what we do not take the time to stop.
