WHO IS THE PAINTER BASQUIAT ?
Jean-Michel Basquiat is an American artist born in 1960 in Brooklyn, New York. He is known for his expressive and spontaneous paintings rich in colors, symbols and references to popular culture. Basquiat began his artistic career as a graffiti artist on the streets of New York, where he gained notoriety for his distinctive style and unique lettering technique. He became one of the most important figures in the street art and underground art movement of the 1980s, leaving behind a deeply influential body of work that continues to inspire many artists today

- "Untitled" (1981), a painting composed of bright colors and graphic patterns that sold for $110.5 million in 2017, setting a record for an American artist.
- "Riding with Death" (1988) is another of Basquiat's now iconic paintings, featuring a skeletal figure riding a car through a cityscape.

Andy Warhol ans his works
Andy Warhol's works emblematic of the pop art era:
Andy Warhol and Marilyn Monroe: One of his most famous works is undoubtedly his series of portraits of Marilyn Monroe, created shortly after the actress' death in 1962. These paintings depict Monroe from different angles and in bright colors, reflecting Warhol's obsession with pop culture icons.
Warhol also depicted other celebrities in his works, including Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and Mao Zedong.
"Campbell's soup" cans and Coca-Cola bottles are other examples of his use of mass culture in art.
Warhol also created abstract and experimental works, such as Silver Clouds, helium balloons shaped like pillow cushions that float in the air.

The collaboration between Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol began in 1984 and continued until Warhol's death in 1985.
