Rose Dalban

Born in Roche- la- Molière (France) on March 4, 1953, Rose Dalban discovered art at a very young age. Finding herself alone all day, drawing and painting allowed her to escape. Henceforth, she would never be bored and would travel constantly in her imagination and the magic of colours. She chose to pursue her vocation, naturally attending the Saint- Etienne School of Fine Arts, where she graduated in 1974.
Admiring the work of artists such as William Turner (British painter, watercolourist and engraver, eighteenth - nineteenth century) and Zao Wou- Ki ( Chinese painter, twentieth century ), she would be influenced by their designs and shades. Nature became Rose’s main source of inspiration; nothing is definitive, everything is moving, water, sky and land merge. It is from the power of nature that the artist draws the energy for her painting. She feeds her imagination with long walks in the countryside, where she lives among woods and rivers. She returns inspired, her spirit filled with ""beautiful light and rich darkness"". The magic of her painting can then emerge. Rose creates with emotion, feeling and poetry in a style that she defines as ""lyrical abstraction"". Vacillating between cool and warm colours, her landscapes express in turns, with dreaminess, the silence of the great outdoors, the power of the elements, the mystery and the pervasiveness of life. First and foremost a watercolourist, she maintains the light and transparency of this technique. Today, her works are done in oil paint on paper for small formats and on linen for large formats.
For her, nothing is more exciting than the spectacle of nature and her works aspire to remind us that it is important for man to take care of the environment. Thus, this passionate artist, ranks nature inarguably as the only truth in life, as in art.
