Description artwork

Lyon de puis Fourvière" depicts the city of two rivers. She chose an overhanging vantage point to highlight the city's rooftops, whose reliefs and ridges create an undulating, almost maritime movement, accentuated by the liquidity of the paint. The motif is painted in oil and palette knife, playing on oppositions between warm (shades of red) and cool (shades of blue and green) colors. The two rivers divide the painting into zones before the final horizon. The sky, meanwhile, echoes the opposition between warm and cold hues, the two masses linked by the wispy, torn clouds that give depth to the space. A few landmarks (Saint Jean, Place Bellecour, the Credit Lyonnais tower, etc.) punctuate the urban space.

Reymond Pierre
Reymond Pierre flag_frFrance
Set up in his workshop in Chambéry in Savoie department, Pierre has worked to produce his works since 2004. The French literature teacher, who has taught in several high schools in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region for many years, chose to improve his knowledge by enrolling in a course dedicated to computer assisted creative techniques. Upon graduating in 2000, Pierre would integrate the IT service of a large company, which would allow him to earn his stripes in this new skill domain. A keen drawer since he was a child, the artist's attention has turned over the years to oil painting. Performing directly on the canvas support without any sketching beforehand, Pierre interprets the world around him from a multitude of colourful touches, composing his pictorial works "principally with volume, accumulations of volumes and nuances of shades that define at the same time perspective, horizon and motifs".
