After studying graphic arts in Paris, K20 worked for a few years as a graphic designer and then as a textile designer. She collaborated with a major Parisian fashion house when she was asked to imagine creations based on the work of Matisse. This approach definitively shifted her career to pictorial art. Very quickly, she chose to devote her painting to the simplicity of form and its spatialization in the frame. \Based in Nice on the French Riviera, the Franco-Swiss artist considers the canvas as a theater where the subject is represented. Her work is therefore based on the transposition of objects out of their usual context. The figurative themes that she stages are thus clearly identifiable, but placed on abstract backgrounds. Thanks to this dramatic process, K20 transforms the perception of the relationships between objects. Like an actor, her subject metamorphoses and reveals its secrets as it is represented. \After an initial stage of photographing his subjects, in their entirety or in detail, K20 settles behind his computer. Each element that interests him is isolated for digital processing. Then comes the actual creative stage, where the artist uses his brushes and pencils. K20 then gives free rein to his personal interpretation. The backgrounds are first executed in acrylic in an abstract way. Then she inserts her subject into this environment, either by transfer, direct collage, or by reproducing it by hand. Finally, she intervenes with pencils, charcoal, paint, cut-outs or additional collage to finalize her work. Whatever the subject, fruit, pebbles or ancient sculptures, K20 always works on it with obstinacy, in the form of variations. She thus observes over time the appearance of minute mutations that are the reflection of her own inner journeys.
