Art is like traveling without leaving home. Therefore it seems essential to me to transmit this possibility through my works.

Originally from Normandy, Geiry grew up in a family of craftsmen, given that her father and grandfather are both cabinetmakers. Also, as she said herself, it is completely natural that she would take her choice of career towards a manual subject. Becoming a professional hairstylist in 1995, she has since worked for a number of clients, but always endeavoured to spare some time for her passion for painting. In addition, Geiry likes to collaborate with photographers in the field of hairstyling, but also those of body painting, make-up and tattooing. Living in the south of France in the city of Toulouse for more than 10 years, Geiry works on the creation of figurative paintings. A self-taught painter, she learned drawing techniques over the course of her professional training, and has not stopped perfecting her style since then.

Using her fingers, knives and brushes, the artist works the pictorial matter by juxtapositions which aims to give relief to the work, to increase its dynamism. Resolutely contemporary, colorful and expressive, his portraits are the result of various themes, ranging from the beauty of old age, to urban youth through allegorical representations of death or vanities. Inspired by the painters she admires for their strong personality and inimitable style, such as Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), Frida Kahlo (1907-1954), Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) or Margaret Keane (born in 1927), GEIRY traces her own path, with passion and simplicity
