TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE / SALE
These terms and conditions govern the sale of products (artworks, frames, gift cards, etc.) exclusively on the website www.carredartistes.com.
They are available to the buyer at any time prior to placing an order.
The General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS) apply solely to purchases made online on the website https://www.carredartistes.com, hereinafter referred to as “the Website,” which is freely accessible to all internet users.
Placing an order for a Carré d’artistes product implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
To place an order, the user must first create a personal account on the Website. A username and password will then allow access to their customer area and enable secure transactions.
Online order procedures are detailed in Article 3 of these GTCS.

2. PRICES AND ARTWORKS
Pricing conditions
Prices shown on the website are indicated in €, US $, CA $, or DKK (Kr.), inclusive of all taxes, but excluding delivery costs (see “Delivery” section).
Artworks are invoiced at the rate in effect at the time of order validation.
In the case of promotional offers, Carré d’artistes undertakes to apply the promotional price to all orders placed within the specified period and under the stated conditions.
Prices and offers displayed online may be exclusive and differ from those available in galleries, catalogs, promotional mailings, or distance sales.
Conversely, certain offers available via other channels (galleries, phone, catalogs) may not be available online.
Taxes and customs duties for international orders
For orders placed outside mainland France, you are considered the importer.
For shipments outside the European Union, taxes and customs duties may apply. These charges are your responsibility and must be paid directly to local authorities.
Photographs and ownership of artworks
Product photographs are provided for illustration purposes only and are not contractually binding.
Artworks remain the property of Carré d’artistes until full payment is received.
Gift cards
Available as physical or digital gift cards (email).
Valid on www.carredartistes.com and in all Carré d’artistes galleries in France.
Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
May be used in one or several transactions, within the available balance.
If the purchase amount exceeds the card balance, the difference must be paid using another accepted payment method.
3. ORDERING AND VALIDATION OF THE TRANSACTION
By confirming your order and clicking the “Validate” button, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full.
Order process
Add products to your virtual shopping cart.
Click “Validate cart.”
Enter your delivery and billing details and select your payment method.
Proceed to payment to confirm your order.
Customer account
A personal account must be created for your first purchase using a valid email and password.
This registration simplifies future purchases.
An accurate email address is required; Carré d’artistes cannot be held liable for errors leading to failed orders.
Confirmation and tracking
Once payment is confirmed, an order confirmation email will be sent.
Delivery times and costs are specified prior to final validation.
Modifications and cancellations
Any modification after confirmation is subject to Carré d’artistes’ approval.
Carré d’artistes reserves the right to cancel an order in the event of a payment dispute.
Product availability
If an artwork becomes unavailable after validation, you will be informed within 2 working days and offered an exchange or refund.
Legal conditions
Minors and protected adults cannot contract (Article 1124 of the French Civil Code).
Online transactions and invoices are archived on a reliable and durable medium in accordance with Article 1348 of the French Civil Code.
4. PAYMENT
Payments may be made in €, US $, CA $, or DKK (Kr.).
Secure payment methods include:
Credit or debit card
Accepted cards: major credit cards and AMEX.
SSL-encrypted secure transactions.
3x payment with no fees (ALMA)
Available with our partner Alma in France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
Available for purchases between €500 and €4,000, subject to Alma’s approval.
Apple Pay
Fast, secure payment using Apple Pay.
Transactions follow the same authentication and security standards as card payments.
PayPal
Quick and secure payments via your PayPal account.
Carré d’artistes gift card
Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Usable online and in French galleries.
Enter the card number and 4-digit code during checkout.
If the balance is insufficient, the remaining amount can be paid by another method.
Gift cards are non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and non-rechargeable.
Bank transfer
Possible via bank transfer; details provided at checkout.
Orders are processed upon receipt of payment.
5. DELIVERY
Packaging
All artworks are carefully packaged and protected using reinforced materials suitable for transport.
Small-format artworks
Includes paintings sized 13x13 cm, 19x19 cm, 25x25 cm, or 36x36 cm, and sculptures.
Orders placed before midnight (Paris time, GMT+1) Sunday–Friday (excluding holidays) are shipped within two business days.
Delivery times: 3–5 business days in France and internationally (depending on country and carrier; DHL Express is the fastest).
Timeframes are indicative and subject to logistical events (force majeure, customs, carrier delays).
Orders may be split into several shipments without additional cost.
Large-format artworks
Includes all artworks from 50x50 cm upwards.
Requires a specific preparation time of 7–15 business days, depending on framing and location (gallery or directly from the artist).
Delivery times after shipment: 3–5 business days in France and internationally.
Indicative and subject to logistical events as above.
Gift cards
Delivered by post (physical) or email (digital).
Transfer of risk
Responsibility for artworks transfers to the carrier upon handover.
Receipt and claims
In case of damage upon delivery, you must note detailed reservations on the delivery slip and mark “subject to inspection.”
Take photos of the damaged package (closed) and email them to bonjour@carredartistes.com within 72 hours, along with a copy of the delivery note.
6. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND (online purchases only)
Artwork returns
We go beyond the legal requirement and offer 30 days to change your mind.
Returns must be made in original packaging.
Return shipping is free within mainland France.
Contact Customer Service at bonjour@carredartistes.com for instructions.
Refunds are issued via the original payment method within 15 days of receiving the returned artwork.
⚠️ Exceptions: The right of withdrawal does not apply to personalized or dedicated artworks.
Gift orders
Refunds are made to the purchaser only.
Bulk orders
Carré d’artistes reserves the right to refuse abnormally large orders from individual consumers.
Gift cards
Non-exchangeable, non-refundable, non-rechargeable.
Cannot be partially refunded or exchanged for cash.
No right of withdrawal once activated and sent (Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code).
Lost, stolen, damaged, expired, or unused cards cannot be refunded.
7. CONSUMER WARRANTY
If the delivered artwork is defective or non-compliant, you have 30 days from delivery to return it in its original packaging.
Contact bonjour@carredartistes.com to receive a return label.
Carré d’artistes will issue a full refund within 15 days of receiving the returned item.
8. RIGHTS OVER THE ARTWORK AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The purchase of an artwork does not include transfer of copyright.
Each artist retains full ownership of their intellectual property rights.
The reproduction and representation rights of artworks displayed on the Website belong jointly to the artists and Carré d’artistes.
Any use (reproduction, distribution, public display, adaptation, etc.) requires prior written authorization from both parties.
Additionally:
All content on the Website (texts, images, graphics, logos, videos, databases, etc.) is protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
Any unauthorized reproduction or exploitation, in whole or in part, constitutes infringement punishable under the French Intellectual Property Code.
9. NETWORKS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
By using our Website, you acknowledge and accept the inherent limitations of internet and telecommunications networks.
Carré d’artistes cannot be held responsible for:
Interruptions or delays in data transmission.
Hardware or software failures beyond its control.
Malicious acts (data theft, viruses, hacking).
Insufficient protection of user equipment or connections.
User errors or misuse of digital tools.
Loss of data or indirect financial losses.
Content distributed by external websites or connected services.
Fraudulent or improper use of online data or images.
Any force majeure or unforeseeable event beyond Carré d’artistes’ control.
10. CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA PROTECTION
To process your order, we collect certain personal information.
This data is processed solely for managing your purchases and improving our services.
By confirming your order, you consent to this processing.
In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978, as amended, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data.

11. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
This agreement is governed by French law.
In case of dispute, both parties agree to seek an amicable resolution before taking legal action.
Failing this, the competent French courts will have jurisdiction under applicable procedural rules.
You may also refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator registered with the CECMC (Commission for the Evaluation and Control of Consumer Mediation).
