Lassalle Ludo | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography
Lassalle Ludo

- Plastician
"Art isn't a passion; it's an obsession."
Ludo grew up in Calais with the graffiti on his hometown's walls. It awoke something inside him and fuelled the passion he'd always had for art and design. The industrial port city inspired him with the graffiti he'd see as he walked around his hometown. He began to take a keener interest in street art. He enrolled at the Fine Arts School at an early age for his studies and after-school classes. His skateboarding took him all over his hometown which he knew like the back of his hand. The railway lines became both a playground and source of inspiration for him. Ludo loves to travel too and sought fresh inspiration in Belgium and Britain. But he decided to open his studio deep in the Cévennes with views of a railway line.
His Fine Arts studies may have taught him some knowledge and expertise but Ludo began exploring a whole host of techniques. He uses collage and stencils that he transferred to his canvases. He plays with different media using salvage or unusual shapes and reinvented materials. His art is limitless, honest and magical. The walls, roofs and streets of European cities bear his graffiti and artistic signature. It's his way of honouring the town and its cityscape with his signature magical touch.
