Mande, a Ugandan-born artist based in Vienna, creates vibrant works that fuse the energy of wildlife with the dynamism of urban landscapes. Trained at Makerere University of Fine Arts, he uses his art as a means of emotional expression and connection to the world. His painting, somewhere between abstraction and realism, captures the essence of nature and the city, translating the stories of strength, resilience and invisible links that unite all living beings.

Mande's inspiration is drawn from his African roots, the colors and movements of the world around him, and the profound relationship between man and animal. Influenced by abstract expressionism and contemporary animal art, he combines textures and vivid palettes to bring his subjects to life. He works primarily with palette knives, rollers and brushes, combining acrylics and oils to create works imbued with vitality and emotion. Through his paintings, he celebrates the beauty of living things and raises awareness of nature conservation, offering a reflection on our link with the environment and the need to protect it.
