The wonderful islands of Polynesia and Hawaii inspired François in the 1980s. Just like his beloved Paul Gauguin, the Drôme-born artist fell in love with the exotic scenery and started out with acrylic before moving into oil. He returned to France a few years later to exhibit his Pacific pieces in a local gallery. He began exhibiting his work in galleries in Provence and the Rhône-Alpes region and drew acclaim. California's famous La Jolla Gallery in San Diego selected his large pieces in 2018 but the pandemic put the brakes on the much-anticipated exhibition.\n
