Art is the way to express our world of happiness and suffering... and often a basic need: I just have to paint!
An interior designer and painter, Monica has nurtured her passion for art since her earliest youth, more specifically once she received a palette of watercolors as a gift from her father. Since then, she has not stopped practicing and expressing her emotions through her color palette. Thanks to her numerous training courses in art schools, Monica has acquired a certain virtuosity in her practice, which today allows her to perform with the same fluency in the realization of her portraits in trompe l'œil as in the murals. Settled in the Italian province of Lecco, in Lombardy, since 2015 Monica launched the promotion of her work and that of other artists through the creation of a cultural and artistic association, ARTEe20.
Endowed with a wide range of colorful shades, Monica's characters emerge from her imagination through reading and the emotions of the moment. The artist's approach, focused on human representation, aims to reveal the thoughts and feelings that each person harbors within themselves, in a common desire to know themselves better. To do so, she works her portraits according to the principle of the unveiled/hidden to give a new way of perceiving some elements to better hide others, and which is reflected on the canvas through a subtle composition made of a juxtaposition of parts sometimes flat and supported, sometimes only sketched, which she highlights by the choice of a narrow perspective.
