Gil KD, a career nurse, has been drawing she was a child. She began painting the streets of Paris with her work at the age of 22 and discovered a passion for the use of spray cans.
She completed her first pieces in 2000. Inspired by the work of new realists the likes of Raymond Hains and Jacques Villeglé, Gil KD draws on a range of techniques and uses these with recycled materials. This mix of collages, acrylicpaint and pastel touches, creates a dynamic, subtle dialogue within each piece, bringing to life powerful female figures.
