Syrk | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

Self-taught, based in the city of Poitiers, SYRK is passionate about the art that he practices daily and with frenzy on all types of supports. In 2005, he declares himself as an independent artist and starts an important production of murals, realizing sometimes trompe l'oeil for individuals as well as for companies; an activity that leads him to travel to the four corners of the globe. SYRK has been using the technique of trompe l'oeil for many years, a technique that marks a decisive turning point in his career because of the influence it will have on his artistic evolution and identity - and from now on, he works assiduously on the development of his own painting style. Thus, through her powerfully colored paintings, the artist invites the spectator to enter a shifted universe, at the border between poetry, SYRK likes to stage various animals in amusing and original situations, whose style strongly recalls that of child imagery.Endowed with a natural interest in all modes of creation, SYRK's personal culture is nourished and enriched over time, from her experiences as well as from her encounters. Thus, inspired by the urban culture as much as the world of the illustration and the comic strip, the young artist knew how to forge a singular and strong signature, which he never fails to confront with that of other graffiti artists on the occasion of collaborative projects.
