Originally from Drôme, the painter Patricia Ritschard began her artistic learning alongside her studies, learning the basics of drawing next to a private art teacher. Orienting herself later on to higher education dedicated to the management of human resources, Patricia would never forget painting, which she was fond of and which she would continue to practise in her free time.\nSet up in the capital of Isère, she signed up to evening lessons at the Beaux-Arts de Grenoble in 1994 and then participated in many placements for pictorial and painting techniques. She then joined the workshop of the painter Claude Blanc Brude. In 2007, she decided to stop her professional work to devote herself completely and exclusively to painting. Using brushes, paintbrushes and knives, Patricia creates her own essentially figurative pictorial expression, dictated to by the impulse and inspiration of the moment. "Let[ting herself] be overcome by the desire to grasp a fleeting impression, to create an atmosphere", the painter plays with colours, light and contrasts to transcend the real. Using acrylics - sometimes together with ink, oily pastels or lead mine - Patricia reinterprets everyday landscapes, characters and scenes to reveal the released sensitive part in a resolutely contemporary aesthetic.\nFascinated and inspired by the pictorial technique of Cézanne (1839-1906), the dreamlike and poetic world of Chagall (1887-1985) or even the oddness freed by the works of Edward Hopper (1882-1967), Patricia works tirelessly to acquire this degree of virtuosity that unites technical expertise and artistic sensitivity.\n
