MAD | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

This artist from Limoges, a former triathlon athlete with a master's degree in planning science and technology, took her first steps into the world of real estate by working for twenty years in the real estate development sector. Her numerous collaborations with architects and the constant monitoring of the creative process gradually gave her the desire to devote herself to the production of an original and personal work. In 2008, driven by a sense of ecology, MAD began an artistic practice centered on the use of various discarded materials to which she wishes to give a second life. From her first works at the crossroads of practices and materials will emerge multiple heterogeneous creations, powerfully luminous and colorful. Six years later, her interest led her to the field of photography, mainly old, of which she favored black and white shots imbued with a feeling of melancholy and nostalgia. Seeking to reactivate the characters by granting them a dose of contemporaneity and plastic reality, this talented portraitist reinterprets her subjects by means of staples, pins, and more specifically, of suspended feathers - of which she acquires the know-how at the end of a recent training in feather making.By this audacious and original approach which proposes a whole new way of apprehending the features of a face, of giving body to an expression, MAD realizes ingenious compositions in relief and nuances which answer the subtle plays of light while getting an intense emotion to the spectator.
