Michelle Hinz | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

Michelle Hinz
  • United States of America (the)
Originally from Detroit, Michelle studied graphic design and technology education at the University of Michigan. After graduating, she worked for several years in the corporate world before launching her own freelance design and painting business in 2006. Six years later, she opened her own gallery in Tampa, Florida, offering design and interior decorating collections and services in conjunction with the display and sale of her paintings. Defining herself as an artist working with the dimensional texture of acrylic paint, Michelle bases her entire approach to painting on the pictorial possibilities of the medium. Using her color palette, augmented by various traditional and technological tools, she experiments with all the visual forms, both conscious and random, of her painting. Proceeding in stages, the American artist composes her work by following the graphic indications that are gradually created on the canvas; thus, each completed action determines the execution of the next. Drawing her subjects from the heart of nature, which has always deeply inspired her, Michelle's goal is to propose an art that breaks with the daily rhythm of contemporary society. Also, the abstract contemplative landscapes want to be aerial, soft and soothing. To do this, the artist will take great care in the choice of her tones in order to communicate to the viewer a feeling of plenitude - induced by a game of declining chromatic shades enriched by numerous textural effects.
