Originally from Paris and now living in Tours, NEP- began his creative journey in adolescence in the 1990s, scribbling his first sketches in pen on scraps of paper. In an optional art class in high school he discovered painting, became passionate about art history, and felt an irresistible urge to confront the blank canvas. With a Master’s in urban sociology, he did not stop painting for his own pleasure, a n d c a r e f u l l y p r e s e r v e d h i s w o r k s . His lively, unstructured strokes allow him to capture faces and emotions, making them express their own vision of modern society. His university studies, specializing in the study of human relationships, inspire portraits of individuals often asexual, sometimes poetic, sometimes earthy, but always controlling their own destiny. Anxious to remain spontaneous, NEP- feeds his work with his frustration and his astonishment. He works on the fly, without questioning, giving free rein to his feelings. The artists of the twentieth century such as Basquiat (United States), Picasso (Spain) and Rouault (France) are his main references.\n A veritable handyman, the painter readily combines on large formats different techniques such as ink, acrylic, oil, collage, image rein.
