Sabine Reichelt | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

Since 2008, Sabine is an independent artist, the studio has become her daily environment and painting her life. After several years of study and training in the fields of cabinet making, ironwork, sculpture and ceramics, she has acquired a rather spectacular technique by the number of different materials used. The conceptions, the creative directions taken and the main efforts of her work are based on diversity, variety with the concern of never being influenced by a single idea, a single trend. Therefore, she always works on several canvases at the same time. Colors or a piece of fabric can inspire her spontaneously with always the urgency to put them on canvas immediately. As a result of this need for disparity and constant research, she designs her canvases by successively switching from one technique to another. Thus, when she finishes a floral design, thus figurative, the following creation is abstract. The plurality of the elements worked by Sabine led her to develop two techniques of which a very current one known under the name of "Collage". For her creations, she uses fabric, paper or cardboard, Champagne chalk, ash, lacquer as well as paste (for texture and relief) and colors derived from oil or acrylic. The second is a 2,500 year old technique called "Encaustic Painting" which uses colors diluted in melted beeswax. This mixture is used hot. This has the effect of giving the painting the appearance of ceramic surfaces that the patina would partially cover. Sabine deposits on his canvases, through the colors, the constructions, the voluntary diversity of materials, positive feelings.
