"I consider my paintings as windows that open on life. I represent my characters connected to their virtual world or their daydreams... moments where their fragility is revealed," says Nathalie Roure Perrier. Born in Lyon, she started dancing, singing and playing the piano at a very young age and learned to paint at the age of 14 from the American artist John Mc Grew. Her personal and singular painting immerses the viewer in intimate scenes and invites him to an inner journey. The human figure is one of her sources of inspiration. Painting her relatives, Nathalie Roure Perrier works on the structure of the faces while searching for the resemblance. Luminous and mysterious, the portraits that the artist describes as both "contemporary and classic", reveal their palette of emotions on the canvas.through a clever mix of oil and acrylic paint, the artist is attentive in her paintings to the dependence of her models on modern communication. "I try to translate states of mind, emotions that everyone feels. Loneliness, introspection, dream or silence, joy or anger, each face expresses feelings," she writes. Permanently connected, the artist presents us however isolated and prisoners of this virtual universe. Floating, these characters are at the same time present and distant, in the image for her of a world which always escapes them.
