A COLLECTION WHICH IS IN THE SPIRIT OF POETRY AND PAINTINGS

Valentine’s day is looming, Carré d’artistes has decided to position itself under the sign of love and romanticism! From the 2nd until the 23rd  of February, a selection of poems signed Victor Hugo, Paul Verlaine or Jean de la Fontaine are highlighted in our galleries, along with a theme selection of paintings. This opportunity reminds us of how much we love to welcome and surprise you, but also how much we adore art, poetry, which is essential, just like the essence of life.

PAINTERS ASSOCIATED WHITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL POEMS

Their names are Zani, Gary Smith and Davy Bouttier and are part of our special selection. From all over the world, these artist painters have a varied style and were selected for you, by our art curators. This is a beautiful opportunity to discover the colorful and warm landscape by the Mexican Dmitry, populated with happy couples, walking in each other’s arms…Or charming couples on bikes, captured in their movement through the brush strokes of Christian Raffin. One doesn’t forget about the young and pretty women, highlighted through their sensuality by Cécile Desserle and Graffmatt! Not to mention the warm composition colors by Lau Blou, whose abstraction bodes perfectly well with the chosen poets. In short, all this is enough to bewitch you during an atypical visit.

THE POINT OF ART HISTORY : WHEN PAINTINGS AND POETRY BECOME ONE

There are several artists who are deeply inspired by poetry since Ancient times. In Paris, the Picasso museum has just ended its Picasso poet exhibition, which showed the master’s interest in the poetry of his contemporaries-he himself had written a dozen! Victor Hugo the great poet was an artist too: he drew a lot and then began painting, sculpting, and designing furniture of his apartments…More recently, Guillaume Apollinaire designed calligrammes which arranged words depending on the shapes and engaged a close dialogue between poetry and art. But isn’t it almost the same thing? As the old poet Simonide de Céos once sang: « Painting is a silent poetry and poetry is an eloquent painting”!

3 (GREAT) REASONS TO GIFT ART TO YOUR OTHER HALF

1. Gifting art means surprising. Simply because your lover hasn’t seen what you’re going to gift: chosen with care in one of our galleries or online, the work is definitely recent, unprecedented, and unique!

2. Gifting art is intimate. An artwork which highlights your taste and but also how much you care for the person. You like abstract painting, he/she likes red? Combine your uniqueness through the same gift! It’ll definitely hit the target!

3. Giving art is much more precious than a piece of jewelry. Even if a necklace is set with diamonds, it doesn’t tell as many stories, showcasing evasion and the audacity of an artwork. Created by an artist who resides in a unique universe, artwork is like a morsel of dream…Can you find better?
