Art is the shortest path between people - André Malraux

Sophie Costa is a self-taught visual artist who has been involved in the art world for over 20 years. Between singular art and pop art, she explores an abundant creativity that translates into energetic and positive works, where visual impact and material effect are at the heart of her approach. Passionate about color and texture, she draws her inspiration from a variety of artistic disciplines, with the aim of conveying a message of joy and energy through her creations.

Sophie Costa’s work is deeply influenced by American pop artists from the 1960s and 1980s, such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Her unique technique combines collage and acrylic painting, incorporating everyday objects like vinyl records, audio tapes, and colored pencils, which she seeks out and recycles herself to give them a second life. This process of upcycling gives her works a graphic, vintage feel while conveying a message of positivity. Sophie celebrates the beauty of visual associations—whether in color, natural elements, or architecture—and encourages us to view the world through an optimistic and vibrant lens.
