I am drawn to the ocean; movement, colors, translucency, depth, mystery, power, calm.\n
Kimberley EDDY is an artist with a unique back story. She kept diaries and sketchbooks as a child before she began painting at the age of 15. Art was a hobby that took a back seat when Kimberley began studying anthropology and psychology before going into teaching. Kimberley worked as a teacher in Bermuda, had a family, returned to her homeland and graduated as an interior designer to go into a more artistic career. The Canadian spent years working in interior design until her world was turned upside down when her husband was diagnosed with cancer. Art, especially painting, became her escape and stress relief. Painting was her therapy during these hard times and remained a way for Kimberley to express herself, even after her husband got the all clear. She went onto become a full-time artist.\n
Kimberley EDDY is drawn to seascapes and coastal life so she specialises in painting the ocean. She's inspired by her travels and the places she has visited in Nova Scotia and Bermuda, where she lived. She works with resin, acrylic, gouache and mixed techniques to create seascapes. Kimberley's pieces may have been an escape for her but they give her audience a sense of calm and release too. The Canadian artist faithfully depicts the movement of the waves and sand to create a soothing bubble where time stands still, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.\n
