Moraldi Spain

Born in Andalusia, Moraldi has always harboured a tremendous fascination for art. It is therefore quite naturally that, once he became an adult, the self-taught Spanish artist decided to devote his entire life to observing and experimenting in shapes and colours. Living in the coastal city of Cadix, Moraldi spends most of his time making paintings.

Moraldi is deeply moved by pictorial works by masters in compositions and textures such as Claude Monet (1840-1926), Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), Antoni Clavé (1913-2005), Nicolas de Staël (1914-1955) and even (1923-2012), and has worked tirelessly to create visual and graphic depictions of his favourite subject: nature. Using acrylic paint along with a luminous and intense palette, the artist creates abstract canvases with great numbers of colourful marks superimposed over many flat tints, applied beforehand. The layout of the material gives the overall work a certain poetic atmosphere that can in some way be related to the work of the representatives of lyrical abstraction - a modern post-war pictorial movement-. In 2003 he joined an artistic collective called ""Colectivo Cero"" that, based on ideas by the painter, sculptor and writer Arroyo Ceballos, proposes to galvanise and diversify artistic creation in the Spanish town of Cordoba thanks to the association of its eight creators.

Moraldi's visual works are the fruit of many years of research and reflection and are forcefully modern. They offer the viewer an interpretation that is always personal and sensitive but that seeks to be temporary because it is always in the process of being written, in the image of its subject and which will always be transformed and renewed.
