Moogly France

Inspired by a grandfather artist, Moogly began painting instinctively as a child. He turned to visual communication and learned the techniques of illustration, then becoming a freelance graphic designer. This autonomy allowed him to spend time on his own creations. He enjoys the balance between graphic design and art. His work attracted notice very quickly and he began rather quickly to exhibit.
Sensitive to the environment, Moogly is highly critical of humanity. Ashamed of what man has done to the world, he has developed even further his commitment to nature, especially animals. He begins by painting portraits of sober expression. The line is just as hard as it the judgement he makes on his subject. Then he begins drawing animals haphazardly, finding in this way his own expression. He gives them human moods and expressions to convey cynicism about the actions of man. Everyone can identify with these touching creatures and feel involved in the degradation of nature. The works of Moogly are colourful and full of life. The artist does not seek to make catastrophic representations of the situation, but simply to soften the audience and raise their awareness.
Moogly uses mixed media consisting of acrylic paint, Chinese ink, natural pigments, collage and paint. He is fascinated by the English illustrator Ralph Steadman for his work with ink spots and scratching, while from the artist Jackson Pollock, he is inspired by the projection of paint. His representation of animals is of course a result of his illustration work, but his artistic influences give a lively and spontaneous burst to his style.
Far from the world of children’s stories, Moogly’s animals are both touching and true.
